Founded in 1955 by Andrew and Loretta Bohatch as an open-air fruit market, the Big Barn Country Store & Deli has been a staple of the community for more than 70 years. What began as a seasonal produce stand evolved into a full-service specialty food store and deli, where James "Jim" Bohatch dedicated nearly 50 years to growing the family business, with his brother, Andrew Bohatch Jr., contributing to the store throughout the years. Through decades of growth and change, the Big Barn has remained a hometown destination known for quality products, friendly service, and a commitment to the community.
Today, the Big Barn proudly enters its third generation of family ownership under Jaimie and Ray Craig. Following the passing of James "Jim" Bohatch in April 2026 after nearly 50 years of leading the family business, his wife, Judy, their daughter Jaimie, and son-in- law Ray remained committed to preserving the legacy Jim worked so hard to build. As Jim's only child, Jaimie and her husband are honored to continue the family tradition while carrying forward the values that have made the Big Barn a trusted part of the community for more than 70 years. Together, the family looks forward to welcoming both longtime customers and new faces while continuing to grow the business for future generations.
